Description

Registered March 2021 on a ‘21 plate and now with just 1,206 miles. Presented in Matt White.

More often that not, you know exactly what you're going to get with a Honda motorcycle: predictability, reliability and capability. In short, it's going to be built to a very high standard, it'll never leave you stranded and it'll do everything – including the stuff it shouldn't – really well.

And on the face of it, Honda's CB1000R+ Neo Sports Café appears to be a textbook Honda. It's a naked sports bike dressed up to look both modern (that's the "Neo" bit) and retro (that's the "Café" bit) at the same time. That means you get a distinctive, circular LED headlight, brushed aluminium panels where you'd otherwise expect plastic, distinctive detailing on the side of the engine cases, a single-sided swing arm and switchgear buttons that have a luxurious, high-quality feel to them. Heated grips come as standard, as does the seat cowl, radiator grille, fly screen and quick-shifter that works both up and down the gearbox. It oozes quality no matter what angle you look at it from due to the sleek and minimal detailing, stubby nose and short seat unit, which is further enhanced by a tidy, rear-wheel-hugging number plate mount.

The 1000cc 4-cylinder engine comes straight from the well-tested and long-proven 2006 Fireblade, except it's been given a longer stroke to develop more torque in the middle of the rev range, rather than right at the top. It makes 143bhp at 10,500rpm and cranks out 104nm (76.7 ft lb) of torque at 8,250rpm. It also has three riding modes connected to a fully electronic ride-by-wire throttle – Sport, Standard and Rain. Those modes offer differing amounts of torque, traction control and engine braking, plus there's an additional mode that allows you to dial in all three settings however you see fit. Suspension comes in the form of fully adjustable Showa Big Piston Forks and a Showa rear shock unit, with brakes from Tokico.

This particular CB1000R is in excellent condition and benefits from a Full Akrapovič Exhaust System, Heated Grips, Quick Shifter, Alacantara Seat and a Rear Seat Cowl.
